Contraceptive Care for Transgender and Gender Expansive Individuals
UCSF Bixby Center’s Beyond the Pill program and the Take Control Initiative are pleased to bring you this interactive virtual training. We will review best practices and recommendations for the provision of contraceptive care to transgender and gender expansive individuals who have a uterus and ovaries. Topics include taking a gender-inclusive sexual history and contraceptive method considerations and guidance for providing trauma-informed pelvic care to trans and gender expansive people.
Please note that this training is not focused on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and assumes a basic level of understanding of concepts of gender and sexuality. Rather, this training is focused on contraceptive care considerations for this population.
