LONG-ACTING REVERSIBLE CONTRACEPTIVE TRAINING

 

This training is for Providers who have a reasonable expectation of providing contraception as part of their practice. (e.g., Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, etc.). Additionally, any Clinical Staff (RN, LPN, MA) and/or Administrative Staff (Practice Managers, Billing/Coding) who are assisting with contraceptive care (see more details below).

The no cost training conference will provide the most up-to-date information on the provision of contraception.

PROVIDER TRAINING SESSION
The training session will focus on providing the most up-to-date information on
contraceptive services with a focus on long-acting reversible contraception
(LARC). The session will include: 1) an overview of contraception and LARC,
2) discussion and practice related to patient-centered counseling for
contraception, and 3) hands-on procedural skills on the insertion and removal of
LARC devices using task trainers and high fidelity virtual simulator. Providers will also
have an opportunity to practice their skills with clinical staff, and are encouraged
to bring clinical and administrative staff with them to the training session.

CLINICAL STAFF TRAINING SESSION
The training session will focus on providing the most up-to-date information on
contraceptive services with a focus on long-acting reversible contraception
(LARC). The session will include: 1) an overview of contraception and LARC,
2) discussion and practice related to patient-centered counseling for
contraception, and 3) hands-on exam room set up for LARC procedures
including materials/supplies for each type of procedure. Clinical staff will also
have an opportunity to practice their skills with a provider and encouraged to
come to the training with the provider(s) they work with in their practice.

ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF TRAINING SESSION
The training session will focus on providing the most up-to-date information on
contraceptives services with a focus on long-acting reversible contraception
(LARC). The session will include: 1) an overview of contraception and LARC,
2) patient-centered communication techniques for office staff, insurance
coverage for LARC, inventory management, billing/coding and more.
Administrative staff will also have an opportunity to practice their skills
through hands on activities, and are encouraged to come with the
provider(s) they work with in their practice.
