An Evidence-Based Training on Contraceptive Care
The UCSF Bixby Center’s Beyond the Pill program and the Take Control Initiative are pleased to bring you this interactive virtual training. Contraceptive Counseling Fundamentals (2 CME credits)
Designed for all staff who provide contraceptive counseling, this session focuses on patient-centered counseling techniques and shared decision-making. Through interactive case studies, participants will become more comfortable responding to common patient concerns around birth control and counseling on side effects.

Updates, Guidelines & Best Practices (2.5 CME credits)
Designed for all staff and clinicians, this session reviews evidence-based guidelines for providing the full range of contraceptive methods utilizing counseling approaches designed to support patients in making informed and voluntary choices around contraception. We will review patient eligibility, compare and contrast side effects and benefits for a range of methods, and discuss common misconceptions about available methods.
Clinician Practicum
Clinicians who attend have the opportunity to schedule a follow-up hands-on virtual IUD placement/removal practicum (free, 2.5 CME credits). Please indicate if this is of interest during registration and we will contact you directly to schedule this additional training opportunity.
