Peer Health Educators
Take Control Initiative Remote Peer Health Education program is a semester based program that supports Post Secondary aged young adults to serve as leaders, role models, and advocates of health and wellness within their varied communities. Peer Health Educators are a diverse group of young adults trained to virtually facilitate community, projects, and discussion on topics such as healthy relationships, boundaries, consent, contraceptive education and access, self-advocacy in health care settings, and other safer sex practices.

What qualifications are needed?
Applicants should meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for a position for the 2024-2025 academic year:
- Must be enrolled in a postsecondary institution OR be under 35 years of age
- Minimum commitment of 2 semesters
- Minimum commitment of 3 hours per week
- Complete required training/orientation and weekly check-in meetings
- Must be willing to foster partnerships with diverse campus partners and student organizations
- Must be committed to delivering programming that is culturally sensitive and inclusive to all populations
- Ability to function in a group both as a leader and as a supportive team member
- Be able to work independently and with a team
